Alan German

CEO

As Director of AACS, I bring experience in working directly with young people as well as a strong background in building and managing successful businesses. This combination of practical youth work and strategic leadership enables me to focus on creating a home where children feel supported, empowered, and given every opportunity to be the best version of themselves.

My work with young people has given me a deep understanding of the challenges they face and the importance of providing consistent care, positive role models, and opportunities for growth. My business experience allows me to ensure that the home operates efficiently, and with a clear focus on achieving the best outcomes for children in our care.

Melissa Evans

Operations Manager

Hi! My name is Melissa and my role at AACS is Operations Manager.

Having spent my entire career of 9 years working with Children in an education setting as a Design and Technology Teacher and the last 6 as Head of Year and Designated Safeguarding Lead. I am passionate about inspiring, educating, safeguarding and encouraging young people to become the best versions on themselves.

Since having my own children, I found that I wasn’t able to become the role model I dreamt of for my children; whilst holding down a middle leaders career in secondary Education.

For me family are at the heart of all that I do, that being said I am truly honoured in now being a committed member of my family’s company AACS. Whereby I can bring my experiences, commitment and determination in ensuring that our service is ran by outstanding professionals who undergo a rigorous safer recruitment process.

Although I may not be in our homes very often; my personable and approachable friendly face can be seen at our head office where all colleagues and young people visit frequently and I am more than happy to help and support in any which way I can.

Being a Mum of two keeps me pretty busy outside of work but I do manage to find time for myself by attending gym classes, regular tea nights with my friends and taking holidays abroad with my family.

Angela Johnson

Lead Admin

Hello my little treasures! My name is Ange and my role at AACS is Office Manger and part time support worker. I have been fortunate enough to spend 14 years of my career working with students at an outstanding Secondary School, as a part of the student service team. This position enabled me to be on hand for children from 11 years old right up to the age of 16.

Whilst working in education I did play many different roles across the board including first aider, receptionist, admin, reprographics and accommodating the students out on school trips. Working with Children I were deemed a responsible colleague in ensuring that safeguarding, mental health awareness and GDPR are paramount in making sure our young people were kept safe.

Once all my children grew up, I no longer required as much time away from work and was ready for a new challenge when approached by Karen our Director. Four years down the line I am still thoroughly enjoying engaging in activities with our young people and being fortunate enough to continue with office duties alongside a great team of colleagues.

Jake Parnell

IT Administrator & Training Coordinator

Hi I'm Jake, I've worked in IT since leaving college but only jumped on to the residential childcare scene at the start of 2022. We recently welcomed our second child in to the world so when I'm not with my son or daughter I'll be in front of my computer screen playing games.
